Neurology Clinic – Speciality: Multimodal Pain Therapy

Back chronic pain - Multimodal pain therapy at Schoen Clinic Vogtareuth.

We strive to improve your quality of life

Our experts at the neurology clinic treat your chronic pain using the activating concept of multimodal pain therapy. They will manage your pain to cope with it differently than before and generally improve your quality of life.

Managing chronic pain

Pain free after multimodal pain therapy

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) biopsychosocial pain model, multimodal pain therapy takes into account all patient-related individual factors that are important for pain and its treatment.

Multimodal pain therapy is thus the treatment method considered by experts to be best suitable for treating and alleviating chronic pain comprehensively. The cause of chronic pain is not decisive for receiving multimodal pain therapy.

When the pain develops into a disease

If pain persists for more than three to six months, it is called chronic pain. This is more than a physical sensation – it also has an emotional and psychological impact. The pain seems inevitable and irreversible and ultimately becomes a disease.

Multimodal Pain Therapy – Tailored to your individual situation and needs

Pain therapy centre

Multimodal pain therapy is a central component of a comprehensive treatment pathway. For over 16 days, we comprehensively treat people suffering from chronic pain as inpatients through a tailored-made programme consisting of individual and group therapies.

In multimodal pain therapy, multidisciplinary approaches with behavioural therapy, body-awareness-oriented and everyday life-related components are crucial. We also pay special attention to accompanying drug therapy.

Treatment focus

We treat the following forms of chronic pain in our neurology clinic:

  • Diseases and injuries to the head, spine, trunk and extremities that do not require acute surgical treatment or can be treated (e.g. chronic back pain)
  • All pain syndromes with and without radiation, e.g. painful nerve diseases such as neuropathies (e.g. diabetic polyneuropathy) and neuralgias (e.g. post-herpetic neuralgia), including central pain syndromes (e.g. post-stroke sequelae)
  • Chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS), formerly known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy and Sudeck's atrophy.
  • Headache syndromes that cannot be controlled on an outpatient basis (chronic headaches)
