Rehabilitation following epilepsy surgery - Direct involvement of therapists
A procedure on the brain offers some children with severe epilepsy the opportunity to be free from seizures and the chance to restore their mental development. The operation can, however, also cause motor or other handicaps. So it is extremely important to plan further treatment.
Rehabilitation and aftercare
Aftercare: we help your child to return to everyday lifeTo help them reintegrate back into the home, nursery or school as quickly as possible, we support children and their parents with the return to their everyday lives. Our social service team will take care of the necessary applications. Thanks to many years of experience, they can assist you with other practical recommendations.
At Schoen Clinic, our epilepsy surgeons, neuro-paediatricians and neuro-rehabilitation specialists work together in one hospital, which is unique in Germany. We involve therapists from neuro-rehabilitation even before the surgery takes place.
Dialogue between consultants and nurses on the various wards also takes place as a matter of course, ensuring that everyone is fully aware of your child's individual needs.
