Hospital for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology
We look deep inside you - with modern equipment and imaging methods. The field of radiology is highly diverse and works closely with all medical disciplines. Our task is to identify or rule out diseases and to present their causes. Interventions - minimally invasive operations using imaging methods - enable us to examine and treat you gently. More than 50,000 patients are examined in radiology every year.
In the radiology centre at Schoen Clinic Neustadt, you can expect modern equipment and imaging procedures in order to “look into the human body”, for example
Three fixed X-ray workstations
Several mobile X-ray systems
EOS X-ray machine
Spiral computed tomography (CT, 64/128-slice)
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, 1.5 Tesla)
Our radiology is completely digitalised, we work without film. All departments are directly connected to the image archive. There are direct external connections to cooperation partners. Special evaluation software is used for some investigations. Providing you with optimal care and the best possible medical quality is important to our experts. Our employees therefore regularly take part in qualification measures.
Our diagnostic services are available to you both as an inpatient and as an outpatient. A friendly, professionally experienced and committed team of specialists awaits you.
Brain and spinal cord diseases (neuroradiology)
Special cardiac diagnostics (cardio CT/cardio MRI)
General and special tumour diagnostics
Special pelvic floor diagnostics
Minimally invasive CT-controlled surgery/interventions
(including pain therapy, biopsies, drainage, heat treatment for liver tumours)
Our specialised radiological centre is certified as a ‘Centre of Excellence for Musculoskeletal Radiology’. This award, granted by the German Radiological Society and the working group ‘Imaging Procedures of the Musculoskeletal System’, represents the highest possible certification level.
We use the state-of-the-art technology EOS, which was awarded the Nobel Prize, for example for diseases of the spine and to plan joint replacement operations. Schoen Clinic is the only provider in northern Germany that uses the X-ray system to treat its patients. Compared to conventional X-rays, EOS enables a better assessment of the statics and thus a more precise interpretation of various orthopaedic complaints. The patient is scanned in a special booth. Only one scan is necessary and displays high-quality images from the front and side of the skeleton in its natural position. After that, the images are processed and evaluated using a special software system.
The result: Thanks to more precise diagnostics, the next treatment steps for the patient as well as operations can be planned even better.
