Hospital for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care

Specialist Centre for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care

The right anaesthetic procedure for your safety

Our specialists from the Specialist Centre for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care are committed to providing you with comprehensive, compassionate care before, during and after surgery. You will be assisted by highly qualified anaesthetists and nurses, who will advise you on the various forms of anaesthesia, monitor you during anaesthesia and surgery, and care for you in a special recovery room. In the interdisciplinary intensive care unit, you will be professionally monitored and treated around the clock if this is necessary for you. In addition to various anaesthetic procedures, we also offer special pain therapies for you if you suffer from acute or chronic pain.

Comprehensively cared for in good hands

State-of-the-art monitoring in a patient-oriented architecture

The Greek word “anaesthesia” means “insensitivity” and describes the most important task of the consultants in the Clinic for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care: They ensure that people are made insensitive to pain during surgery. Modern monitoring and anaesthesia devices support them in this. In many cases, they can also make it possible for you to undergo a stress-free operation without general anaesthetic. The experts in Neustadt have a great deal of experience with this local anaesthesia (anaesthesia of a region of the body, such as a leg or an arm). You will be given a mild sedative to support this. Some patients also relax during the operation by listening to music.

All of the important questions regarding your anaesthesia will be clarified with you in a special consultation. Here, the consultants will work with you to determine the appropriate anaesthetic procedure. On the day of the operation itself, we will look after you closely and with the greatest possible comfort: Our modern operating centre has separate pre-operation rooms in which you will be placed under anaesthesia. After the operation, you wake up in a bright and friendly recovery room and stay there until all of your bodily functions are completely stable.

Managing chronic pain

Treating pain comprehensively

Our experts in the outpatient pain department treat patients suffering from chronic pain. After a detailed discussion with you, the specialists will initiate an individually suitable therapy for you. As an outpatient clinic for special pain therapy and pain psychotherapy, the treatment approach is based on a holistic treatment concept. This takes into account your physical, psychological and social aspects equally.
