Heart attack – our treatment

In the event of a heart attack, it is crucial that you receive rapid first aid and are immediately taken to a suitable hospital where round-the-clock cardiac catheter service is established. After all, the more time passes between the heart attack and your treatment, the more serious the negative consequences for your health can be over the long term. At our Heart Centre in Hamburg, a large and experienced team of heart specialists is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to professionally treat you in our heart catheter laboratory in the event of a heart attack. All modern therapeutic measures are applied here. If cardiac arrhythmia requiring treatment occurs after a heart attack, all pacemaker or defibrillator systems can be implanted in our cardiology department. In rare cases, catheter-assisted therapy is not possible or too risky. For such situations, we have a firm cooperation with a nearby cardiac surgery facility, where immediate surgical treatment (bypass surgery) can be performed at any time.
Incidentally, with a heart-healthy diet, regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle, you can generally prevent your risk of cardiovascular diseases such as a heart attack.
