After a haemorrhoid treatment

After haemorrhoid surgery, you will spend an average of one night in hospital at Schoen Clinic. In the morning after the operation, you will be examined and checked for possible secondary bleeding. We will then discharge you home with pain management adapted to your needs.
The operated area should be carefully cleaned regularly at home by rinsing with water until wound healing is finished. We recommend that you avoid spicy foods and citrus fruits for three weeks after the haemorrhoid surgery and eat a healthy, balanced diet in order to prevent excessive straining during bowel movements.

In the first week after the operation, we invite you to a consultation for a follow-up examination. The final examination by the surgeon takes place after around four weeks. Depending on your workplace situation and your general condition, you can return to your workplace after one to two weeks.
