Schoen Clinic announces new organisation structure

  • New organisation structure will decentralise decision-making and promote co-operation between hospitals.
  • Reduction of up to 90 jobs within the administration function at Schoen Clinic headquarters
  • Headquarters to move near to Munich Airport by the end of 2020

The Schoen Clinic Group, the largest family-run hospital group in Germany, is implementing further measures as part of its ongoing structural reorganisation. Up to 90 positions will be impacted by this reorganization of the Group’s headquarters administration. The planned reorganisation applies to the administrative areas of medical control, human resources, IT and payroll management in the headquarters located at Prien am Chiemsee.

These changes follow an earlier company announcement (16 September 2019) with regard to managing directors. These measures will lead to increased decentralisation for decision-making and considerable efficiency improvements. Additionally, these changes will deliver closer co-operation between the group’s hospitals and increased opportunities for sharing knowledge and expertise across the group. Anticipated savings for future investment in the group will be up to 10m euros.

In the light of the company’s increased international operations, the Schoen Clinic Group will relocate its headquarters from Prien to a location near Munich Airport in the next 12 months.

Dr. Mate Ivančić, Chief Executive Officer of Schoen Clinic Group: “We are committed to continue investing into the future of our company and employees and to do so we must ensure that we can provide the necessary resources aligned to the future needs of the group.”

Christopher Schön, Chief Operating Officer of Schoen Clinic Group: “The Schoen Clinic, as a family business, stands for the very best medicine, attentive and well-equipped nursing care, and an excellent patient experience. Our planned reorganisation will contribute towards our focus of maintaining the highest standards of patient care and quality. We will implement these changes with the utmost respect towards impacted employees and we wish them well for the future.”

The largest family-run hospital group in Germany treats all patients, regardless of whether they are covered by statutory or private insurance. Since it was founded by the Schoen family in 1985, the company has focused on quality and excellence through specialisation. Its medical specialities are mental health, orthopaedics, neurology, surgery and internal medicine. At 26 locations in Bavaria, Hamburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein and Great Britain, 10,600 employees treat around 300,000 patients each year. Schoen Clinic has been measuring treatment results for many years and derives relevant improvements for its patients from this on a regular basis.
