Important for the success of your treatment: The analysis of your individual anxiety triggersIn order to successfully treat your anxiety disorder, we will closely examine the individual causes of the disorder and their interaction. The intensive analysis provides us starting points for the anxiety treatment. Usually, important underlying causes of the anxiety are discovered that contribute toward the development and perpetuation of the anxiety disorder.
Conservative treatment methods
Behavioural therapy: Overcome your fears with new behavioursThe main approach when treating anxiety disorders is psychotherapy, more precisely, cognitive behavioural therapy. Here, you will learn how to automatically recognise and change unhealthy behaviour patterns. To break the cycle of anxiety, you will learn how to confront your fears and resist the impulse to flee or avoid. This way, the fear can be decoupled from the triggering situation and you will feel your anxiety dissipate on its own. During the confrontation, the fears and related catastrophic way of thinking will become stronger for a moment until they reach a maximum, then they will slowly dissipate. This habituation process can take 20 minutes, sometimes longer.
Rehabilitation: Fit again for everyday lifeThe objective of the treatment is to break down or overcome obstacles or limitations in your everyday life or at work. You should actively take part in daily life again. In addition to psychotherapeutic treatment elements, such as group and one-on-one therapy, additional measures are helpful. This includes sports and movement therapy, physical applications, relaxation techniques and occupational measures. This will be discussed with you and planned in advance.
First, we determine physical symptoms and agree on realistic therapy goals with you. We take your personal life history and the underlying triggering and perpetuating factors of the anxiety disorder into account. When creating your treatment plan, we will also take your individual resources and competences into account. That is particularly important because you can only reach your rehabilitation goals if you actively participate.
